Dragon Hills Retreat…

…is 50 acres of wooded forest and wildlife located in West Georgia.  The abundance of walking paths throughout the property allow you to enjoy all of  the sounds and sights of nature that Dragon Hills has to offer.

Choices of primitive camping or camping with electric are offered on the site as well as a limited number of cabins and RV hookups. Dragon Hills is pet friendly as long as you abide by Georgia state leash laws. There is no unauthorized photography allowed on the site!

Bath houses, kitchen and dining areas and a covered pavilion with a fire pit are just some of the amenities offered at Dragon Hills Retreat! Hawkfest Drum and Dance Gathering in Dragon Hills will be held September 23rd-27th 2010, come and join us for a “Drumming Good Time”!

Prices for Hawkfest are $50 per ticket

    The sound of all those drums playing, echoing all over the hill, was just awesome. There were so many very talented drummers here. And the dancers….well, they were beautiful and full of energy, and much fun to watch!! Cant wait until next weekend!!

    my poi workshop-in the barn at 4pm on Friday.
    my hoop workshop-in the barn at 4 pm on Saturday
    the fire safety workshop- by the drum circle by performance area Fri day at 6pm

    These have not been approved by Nighthawk yet. I wanted to tell you about them since they are not on the website yet because I took too long to get my info to Nighthawk.

    I will also be vending this time. We will have custom hoops, practice poi, commonly forgotten camp gear and art. =)

    About my poi workshop-in the barn at 4pm on Friday.
    This workshop is for new beginners. I will cover basic moves and terminology and some drills
    to help with muscle coordination and straight planes. The drills will be the main point of the class. I will also cover a couple
    basic moves like the butterfly and 2 beat weave.

    About my hoop workshop-in the barn at 4 pm on Saturday
    This workshop is for beginner hoops. If you can keep the hoop up this class will teach you a few hoop tricks. I will cover turning while hooping, walking while hooping, hoop lifts and hand hooping. If you can’t keep the hoop up yet, then find me any time during the event for one on one instruction.

    About the fire safety workshop- by the drum circle by performance area Friday at 6pm
    Learn how to be the person standing by the performer with the blanket. A fire safety is very important to a performer. The safety helps prevent wanderers from wandering into the performer and is ready to extinguish the performer if they light themselves on fire. Every fire performer has light themselves on fire at some point. It is also important to know how to safety if you want to learn how to fire perform!
