THE SIMPLICITY OF DRUMMING

Tabber Millard

The workshop Tabber will be giving is one for all types of drummer’s…old and new… pro’s and beginner’s. The point of the workshop is simplicity… drumming doesnt have to be hard or chaotic. The shortest distance between two points, is simplicity.
He will help you learn to feel comfortable and how to listen properly of whats going on around and in the circle. He will demonstrate proper hand technique, and exercises to help get you started and enjoying the circle more, he will also discuss proper drum circle manners.
Remember, when you are in a circle with a drum… you have a job to do… make the dancers move… bringing the energy from the earth. Not to annoy the person next to you by tapping out of control…always be aware of your sound, and make sure it flows within the sound of the circle as a WHOLE. these are some of the points that Tabber will touch on… because Tabber wants to make you a better drummer!!

Tabber Millard of the world famous band VAST and former member of Dreamtrybe, was born in Houston, TX 1982. Raised by master drummer’s and musician’s, he pursued a life in Music by the time he was 2 years old..
He is now a world known, International touring and recording artist and has worked with some top names in the music industry..
Tabber has studied an array of styles.. African, Latin, Middle Eastern, Afro-Cuban, Fusion, Blues, Jazz, Ska, and Rock.
He has melted these styles into one he likes to call, Tribal Fusion.. his styles are unusual and they get to the point… the point being to make your hips and soul swirl in dance throughout the universe.

DISCUSSIONS ON DREAMTIME
Willow

Those interested in an initial journey into dreamtime can participate in a “dreaming with the drum”  experience after the initial discussion. Please do not eat for a couple of hours before the session as this will slow down your ability to dream. This is not a drug induced experience, but created through the breath and the drum coming into harmony.

Willow has been walking the shaman”s dream for 25 years, traveling to other worlds, dancing her spirit animal, seeking the dream that connects all things.
When we meet we will discuss dreaming to the drum, heartbeat rhythms, recognizing spirit animals, places to go, and spirit guides.
